Day 1 – Bujumbura City • Rusizi National Park • Lake Tanganyika
Airport/hotel pickup in Bujumbura. Start with the main highlights of the city, including Independence Monument, Unity Monument, local markets and other important landmarks. Continue to Rusizi National Park for a boat safari looking for hippos, crocodiles and birdlife. Finish the afternoon along Lake Tanganyika, with time to relax by the lake.

Day 2 – Teza Tea Plantations • Kibira National Park • Gitega
After breakfast, leave Bujumbura for the highlands. Visit the beautiful Teza Tea Plantations, learn about Burundi’s tea production and enjoy the mountain scenery. Continue into Kibira National Park for a guided forest experience. Afterwards, drive toward Gitega.

Day 3 – Gitega Museum • Gishora Drum Sanctuary • Karera Waterfalls • Nyakazu Fault
Visit the National Museum of Gitega before continuing to the famous Gishora Drum Sanctuary for the royal drum performance and an introduction to Burundi’s traditional culture. Continue south to Karera Waterfalls, followed by Nyakazu Fault, one of Burundi’s most impressive natural landscapes.

Day 4 – Source of the Nile • Livingstone–Stanley Monument • Bujumbura
Travel toward Rutovu to visit the southernmost source of the Nile. Continue toward Bujumbura, stopping at the Livingstone–Stanley Monument before returning to the city. Airport drop-off or hotel transfer depending on the client’s departure time.
