Gitega – Gishora – Mwaro – Muramvya

DAY 1 – Arrival & Transfer to Gitega (Feb 1, 2026)

Upon arrival at Bujumbura International Airport or from your hotel, our team will welcome you and begin the journey toward Gitega. The drive takes you through the beautiful central highlands, with a short stop at the Bugarama viewpoint for photos and fresh air.
Arrival in Gitega, hotel check-in, and time to relax.

DAY 2 – Gishora Royal Drums & Gitega Museum (Feb 2, 2026)

After breakfast, you will head to the Gishora Royal Drum Sanctuary, one of Burundi’s most important cultural sites. Here, you will attend a traditional drum performance and learn about the history of the country’s ancient royalty.
Later, visit the Gitega National Museum before taking a walk around the town to experience local markets and daily life.

DAY 3 – Mwaro Hot Springs & Waterfalls (Feb 3, 2026)

In the morning, depart for Mwaro Province. Your visit includes the natural hot springs, followed by a guided walk to the waterfalls and sacred natural sites often linked to local legends and traditions.
Lunch will be taken in Mwaro before returning to Gitega in the afternoon.

DAY 4 – Muramvya Highlands & Nature Experience (Feb 4, 2026)

After breakfast, drive to Muramvya, a former royal province known for its cool climate, scenic highlands, and cultural heritage. Explore viewpoints, forests, and important historical spots.
There will also be time to meet local communities and observe traditional ways of life. A visit to a nearby tea plantation can be added depending on timing.

DAY 5 – Return to Bujumbura & Departure (Feb 5, 2026)

After breakfast, begin the return journey to Bujumbura with selected stops for photos and viewpoints along the way.
Upon arrival, you will be dropped off at the airport, your hotel, or a border point depending on your onward travel plans.
