Day 1 – Arrival | Kibira Forest • Tea Plantations • Gishora Drums
Upon arrival in Burundi, guests are warmly welcomed by our professional team and begin a scenic journey into the country’s green heart.
The drive passes through Kibira National Park, Burundi’s largest rainforest, known for its cool climate, dense vegetation, and mountain scenery. A stop is made at Teza Tea Plantation, where rolling tea fields and fresh air create a perfect introduction to Burundi’s natural beauty.
In the afternoon, the tour continues to Gishora Drum Sanctuary, home to Burundi’s most famous royal drums. Guests enjoy a live traditional drumming performance, one of the strongest cultural symbols of the country.
The day ends with a transfer to Gitega for overnight rest.

Day 2 – Karera Waterfalls • Source of the Nile • Muramvya Cultural Night
After breakfast, the journey heads south through scenic countryside landscapes.
The first stop is Karera Waterfalls, a peaceful natural site surrounded by greenery. The tour then continues to the historic Source of the Nile, an important geographical and cultural landmark.
In the afternoon, guests drive to Muramvya, the former royal capital of Burundi. The evening is spent in Bugarama, where a special cultural experience awaits:

Day 3 – Bujumbura City Tour • Lake Tanganyika Boat Safari
The day begins with a drive to Bujumbura, Burundi’s largest city and economic center.

In the afternoon, guests enjoy a boat safari on Lake Tanganyika, one of the longest and deepest freshwater lakes in the world. During the boat ride, there is a high chance of seeing hippos and sometimes crocodiles, as well as fishermen returning from night fishing.
The day ends with relaxation by the lake.
