A World Traveler Chooses Burundi as Country #164
At M Travel and Tours Burundi, we recently had the privilege of welcoming a very special guest — a 20-year-old world traveler who has already explored 163 countries across the globe. Burundi became country number 164 on her extraordinary journey, and we were honored to be the team guiding her experience.
From the moment she landed, our priority was to make sure she didn’t just visit Burundi — but truly felt it.
🌍 Arrival in Bujumbura — A Warm Welcome from Our Team
Our team welcomed her at Bujumbura International Airport and transferred her to our office for a friendly introduction and trip briefing.
From there, we escorted her to her hotel to relax and refresh after her flight.
But her first evening in Burundi was just beginning — and we wanted it to be unforgettable.
🌅 Evening in Bujumbura — City Lights, Scenic Views & Live Music
To introduce her to the charm of Bujumbura, we took her to:
- Kiriri Garden Hotel — for one of the best panoramic viewpoints over the city and Lake Tanganyika. As the sun slowly set behind the hills, she enjoyed peaceful views, fresh air, and the calm beauty of the city lights below.
Then we continued the night in true Burundian style.
- Arena Club Bujumbura — where she experienced vibrant local nightlife and an energetic live music performance. The atmosphere was lively, warm, and full of rhythm — the perfect first impression of Burundian culture.
After an exciting evening, we returned her safely to her hotel to rest before the next day’s cultural experience.

🥁 Day Two — Gishora Drum Sanctuary & Traditional Burundian Attire
The following morning, we traveled to one of Burundi’s most important cultural heritage sites — the Gishora Drum Sanctuary.
To make the experience even more meaningful, she was dressed in Imvutano, the traditional attire worn by Burundian women. This beautiful cultural gesture connected her not just to the performance — but to the identity and pride of Burundian women.
At Gishora, she witnessed:
- The legendary Royal Drummers of Burundi
- Powerful rhythms echoing through the hills
- Cultural storytelling through movement and music
- A performance that is both spiritual and historical
It was not just a show — it was a living tradition.
As she shared with our team, this experience was one of the most authentic and emotional moments of her travels.
After the visit, we escorted her back to the airport — closing a short but deeply meaningful journey through Burundi.
