Tour Itinerary

08:00 – Departure from Bujumbura

Your guide from M Travel and Tours Burundi will pick you up from your hotel or accommodation in Bujumbura.

The drive to Gitega takes approximately 2–2.5 hours and offers scenic views of Burundi’s beautiful hills and rural landscapes.


10:30 – Arrival at Gishora Royal Drums Sanctuary

Arrive at the Gishora Royal Drums Sanctuary, one of the most important cultural heritage sites in Burundi.

Your guide will introduce you to the history of the sanctuary and explain the role of the royal drums in the Burundian monarchy.

Time spent: 20 minutes


11:00 – Traditional Drumming Performance

The highlight of the visit is the Royal Drumming Performance.

The famous drummers perform powerful rhythms using large ceremonial drums while demonstrating traditional movements and techniques.
