This private programme is designed for a traveller arriving in Bujumbura who would like to discover the city before continuing their journey.
The experience includes airport pickup, transfer to Club du Lac Tanganyika Hotel, a guided Bujumbura city tour, meals, transportation, entrance fees and an early-morning boat excursion to observe hippos and birds around Lake Tanganyika and the Rusizi area.
Day 1: Airport Pickup and Bujumbura City Tour
Upon arrival at Melchior Ndadaye International Airport, the traveller will be welcomed and transferred in a private vehicle to Club du Lac Tanganyika Hotel.
After check-in and refreshments, the guest will begin a guided tour of Bujumbura, depending on the confirmed flight arrival time.

Day 2: Hippo and Birdwatching Boat Excursion
7:30 a.m. – Boat excursion
The guest will meet the guide in the morning and depart for a guided engine-boat excursion around Lake Tanganyika and the Rusizi wetland area.
The excursion provides an opportunity to observe:
- Hippopotamuses
- Waterbirds
- Migratory birds
- Crocodiles, when visible
- Wetland vegetation
- Local fishing activities
- Lake Tanganyika scenery
Wildlife sightings take place in a natural environment and cannot be guaranteed.
After the boat excursion, the guest will return to Club du Lac Tanganyika Hotel to refresh, collect their luggage and check out.
The traveller will then be transferred to Melchior Ndadaye International Airport according to the confirmed flight departure time.
