- Meeting point
- Your hotel reception in Bujumbura.
- Pickup and drop-off
- The programme starts and finishes in Bujumbura. Hotel pickup on Day 1 and final hotel drop-off are included unless the itinerary specifies an airport transfer. Send the hotel name and a reachable WhatsApp number with your booking. Your airport arrival and departure transfers are included. Send both flight numbers, dates and hotel so we can schedule the transfers around your flights.
- Departure arrangements
- All stated clock times are local Burundi time. Plan to be ready at the agreed pickup point. Do not book a tight onward flight immediately after a regional road tour; allow a separate departure transfer and a suitable buffer.
- Transport
- Private road vehicle matched to your group and route, with driver and fuel included. The listed Lake Tanganyika excursion uses a private engine boat with crew and life jackets.
- Accommodation
- 5 nights in carefully selected comfortable hotels with private bathrooms in Bujumbura, Gitega. One private room per booked adult is included; a shared twin or double can be requested at the same package rate. Children share with their accompanying adult. Hotel names are supplied in your booking itinerary; no international star rating or named hotel is guaranteed. Changes to the published room basis require an agreed quotation.
- Meals and drinks
- 5 breakfasts, 6 lunches and 5 dinners, plus bottled drinking water during the programme. One café drink at each listed café stop is included. Tell us about dietary requirements before travel. Alcohol, extra drinks and additional menu orders are not included.
- Guide languages
- English or French. Tell us your preference when booking; another language requires prior written agreement.
- Activity level
- Easy to moderate: short guided walks, standing at sites and vehicle transfers. Longer routes include substantial road travel.
- Accessibility and suitability
- Routes may include steps, uneven paths and places without step-free access. Describe practical mobility or assistance needs before booking so we can assess the actual route, vehicle and boarding arrangements. This itinerary is not advertised as wheelchair accessible. A tailored alternative can be quoted where the published route is unsuitable.
- Children and age requirements
- Children are welcome with a parent or responsible adult aged 18 or over. The published per-person rate applies equally to adults and children; there is no automatic child discount. Include each child’s age in Special requests. Parents supervise children throughout; discuss mobility, noise sensitivity and equipment needs with the team before travel. Boat passengers must wear a correctly fitting life jacket; tell us the children’s ages and sizes so appropriate equipment can be arranged.
